love is a jealous game
between your mind and your heart
often you don't know what you feel
it can tear you apart
it can be your enemy
or very close friend
but you'll never really know
until you've lost someone in the end
you won't know what its like
until you give your heart away
and see a very precious gift
begin to fade and slip away
you think back to yesterday
to a relationship once so very strong
and you try to figure out
what happened and what went wrong
you reach out your hand
to take that love back in
and realize in the game of love
you can never really win
missin all the laughter and fun
you and another once shared
now that they're gone
will they ever know how much you cared?
they say don't look for love
just let it come to you
but if i keep screwing up
will that dream ever come true?
i sit by my window and wish
that i could go back in time
and change a lot of things
so that love would still be mine
but i know i can't do that
and i know i can't make things all right
all i know is what's in my heart
and that's two wrongs don't make a right
maybe we were never meant to be
it was all just a coincidence
for you to be my friend and nothing more
than just a good acquaintance
or maybe along the road of love
i'll meet you once again
and only hope and pray
that we'll be more than friends
until then all i have are memories
to reminisce on
and know you're always in my mind
and heart where you'll forever belong
they say it it better to have loved
and lost than to have never loved at all
but i would have given anything
to not have lost love and taken this fall
